Orly Flash Glam FX: Sunglasses at Night

Right now, Sunglasses at night is only available on Orly's website, but eventually it will be released to retail outlets, along with the rest of the Flash Glam FX collection.  Sunglasses is a grey jelly with black-holo bar glitter and small black glitter.  Swatches are, from left to right, one coat, two coats and three coats of Sunglasses alone followed by one coat of Sunglasses over black.

I love black glitter, and I love that this is black bar glitter and that it is holographic at the right angle.  I wish that the base were clear so I could wear it over lighter colors, but that's really a minor quibble.

Orly Flash Glam FX: So Go-Diva

Another polish from the Orly , and the one with the least understandable name. So weird So Go-Diva is copper hex glitter in a grey jelly base.  What makes this different from all the other copper-in-a-darker-jelly polishes is that the copper shifts to black depending on how the light hits the polish!  All pics are, from left to right, one coat, two coats, three coats of the polish alone and one coat of the polish over a black creme.

While this isn't a brand-new combination of jelly and glitter, it's different enough from other copper and grey combos to make a copper-holic like myself happy to add it to my collection. :)

Orly Flash Glam FX: Mermaid Tale

Another polish from the Orly website. Mermaid Tale has a clear base with green-blue-holo hex glitter and fine green glitter.  All pics are, from left to right, one coat, two coats, three coats of the polish alone and one coat of the polish over a black creme.

I don't love this quite as much as Go Deeper, with its tinted base, or Cupcakes and Unicorns, which I feel is really unique, but it's still a very pretty polish!

Orly Flash Glam FX: It's a Meteor

This one is for GG, who asked me about this polish and has been a rock while I was feeling sad and sorry for myself. <3

It's a Meteor is only available on the Orly website right now.  It's a clear jelly with red hex glitter, silver and gold hex glitter and gold square glitter.  Even at three coats, it's not opaque, so I'm going to use this one strictly for layering.  To me, it looks like frozen flames!  All pictures are, from left to right, one coat, two coats and three coats of It's A Meteor, followed by one coat over a black creme.

I can't wait to try this over red!

Orly Flash Glam FX: Go Deeper

Like Cupcakes and Unicorns, I got this from the Orly website. Go Deeper has a blue jelly base with blue-green-holo hex glitter and superfine blue glitter.  All pics are, from left to right, one coat, two coats, three coats of the polish alone and one coat of the polish over a black creme.

You can see that this one is mostly opaque in three coats, but it also works well as a layering polish!

Sinful Colors, sinful theft and an easy, but possibly meaningless apology

Sinful Colors, which is now owned by Revlon, has stolen pictures from at least two nail bloggers and used them without credit and without recompense in a pamphlet distributed at Walgreens.

Revlon is big enough to know better and to act better, and although I don't have the Sinful collection MamaGlam does, I sure as hell have a lot of Revlon cosmetics, which are liable to get boxed up and mailed back to the company, I'm so ticked off right now.

Edited 07/25/12:

Revlon has apologized on its Facebook page, but since they didn't say anything about recalling the pamphlets or providing recompense to the bloggers, I'm still skeptical.

Orly Flash Glam FX: Cupcakes and Unicorns

I'm back, if anyone missed me!  The MS flareup is improving, thanks to an anti-seizure medicine called Keppra or Kepra.  However, my nails are still a mess, so I swatched my new Orly polishes on nail wheels.  I'm starting with the one all my perfume ninja friends wanted to see, Cupcakes and Unicorns.  I got this from the Orly website, and I did pay full price, but I absolutely think it's worth it!  It's a clear base with superfine pink shimmer and red-pink-holo bar glitter!  In the blurry no-flash picture, you can see the pink shimmer giving the black a rosy overlay.  All pics are, from left to right, one coat, two coats, three coats of the polish alone and one coat of the polish over a black creme.

I'm not sure when Orly will be releasing Cupcakes and Unicorns to retail stores, but if like me, you can't wait, you can buy it right now from them!

Orly on Hautelook!

One of my favorite nail polishes is available right now on Hautelook!  I'm seeing recent stuff like the Dark Shadows collection, near-past stuff like the Cool Romance and the Holiday 2011 collection, core collection polishes and even some from Cosmic and Mineral FX collections!  And yes, that's my affiliate link up there, I'm always hopeful. ;)
